Half pepper line drawing
I drew a red pepper cut in half, which I found in the fridge. I’m not very satisfied with the drawing, it’s a bit distorted. This may be due to my position above the object and having the support flat on my knees, rather than upright in front of me.
I spent much time searching for something to draw, but couldn’t decide on anything. Maybe I have satisfied my desire to draw studies of single natural objects during the first part of the course. I think I will just get on to the next exercise because waiting for inspiration to come might kick me out of the course. I do like line drawings, I do like natural objects, but I can’t get both together to give me a pleasurable drawing experience. Maybe it’s not my day. Maybe I’ll get back to this exercise later.
I think I’m having problems with the restriction to natural objects. I see interesting textures everywhere, but the natural objects I have at my disposal are so tiny and I’m just not patient enough to sit down and meticulously draw millimeter-sized structures. It’s just not what I want to do.
