What problems did you find in executing perspective drawings?
I did not perceive the task as particularly problematic. Maybe this is because I have acquired some practice with perspective drawing earlier on, before the course. It’s mainly to find myself back into it. I do make technical errors but I think I can improve on these by paying more attention and using light helping lines when making the basic composition.
Make note on the merits of using, or not using, rulers to guide you.
Rulers add sort of a mechanical correctness into the picture which I don’t really like. Sometimes it is difficult to make a long straight line by hand. But I prefer to have it a little curvy rather than technically exact, but liveless. I’d also rather practice perspective drawing without rulers, because I find drawing by hand more organic. Unless it’s a technical drawing right away, I’d rather not use a ruler.
