How well did you manage to create the sense of a fleeting moment rather than a pose?
Maybe this is something that worked relatively well in my drawings, as I tend to have a non-perfectionist style and am impatient and prefer less to more. So in a way all my drawings have something unfinished in them which seems to correspond well to the idea of fleeting moments.
How successful were your attempts to retain an image and draw later?
These attempts were rather unsuccessful.
Were you able to keep to a few descriptive lines to suggest the person’s movement or were you tempted to keep introducing more elements into your work?
Most of the time, I wasn’t able to do any more than draw oversimplified linear sketches of a real person moving before me. This was a repetition of my inability to draw my cats as soon as they were awake and moving. The solution was to draw from a photo and then there was enough time to draw the entire figure, not just descriptive lines. So I must say that I haven’t found a solution to the task of drawing moving people.
